Tzu Chi Foundation Canada Tulip Festival – Richmond
Celebrate the joy of spring blooms at the Great Love Farm on Finn Road, where Tzu Chi Foundation Canada warmly invites you to a one-day Tulip Festival and Fair. Last year, the festival was on May 4. Look for updates.
More than 10,000 tulips bloom across the charity-run farm, creating a colourful setting for a community-focused event featuring live music and a market with vegetarian food, desserts, and handmade crafts.
This is a quieter, community-rooted alternative to the larger commercial tulip farms — and a meaningful way to celebrate spring while supporting local charitable initiatives in Richmond.
Tulips in Victoria and Vancouver Island
Shifting across the water to Vancouver Island, you’ll discover that, while there aren’t tulip fields on the same scale as the Fraser Valley, spring gardens in Victoria welcome visitors with vibrant bulb displays.
The formal beds at Butchart Gardens feature thousands of tulips woven throughout spring planting schemes, typically peaking in April. Beacon Hill Park and neighbourhood gardens throughout Victoria also showcase colourful tulip displays, making it easy to pair flower viewing with a harbourfront stroll.
Coastal Black Annual Tulip Fest – Vancouver Island
Set against the pastoral landscape of Vancouver Island, Coastal Black Estate Winery hosts Vancouver Island’s only dedicated tulip festival.
The festival is alive with the vibrant colours of approximately 350,000 hand-planted bulbs—including tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils—blooming in waves. There’s no better place to witness the changing palette of spring!
With Early, Mid, and Late Bloom periods, visitors can witness the fields change colour as spring progresses. The end of April and early May typically offer peak bloom — though those dates can draw larger crowds. For a quieter experience, the Early Bloom period provides softer light and fewer visitors.

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival – La Conner, Washington
Just south of the border, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival transforms farmland into broad bands of colour throughout April. On clear days, Mount Baker rises behind the fields — one of the Pacific Northwest’s most photographed spring scenes.
